Those Who Have Held Us: A Conversation with Grief Elders
Thursday, September 24 | 7:00–9:00 PM
The Lantern | 2828 SE Stephens Street, Portland
Aging Well participants are warmly invited to Those Who Have Held Us: A Conversation with Grief Elders, a special intergenerational gathering exploring grief, resilience, community, advocacy, and what sustains us through a lifetime of change.
The evening will feature Portland elders Kathleen Saadat and Eric K. Ward, with facilitators Sarina Saturn, PhD and grief educator and community deathcare leader Holly Pruett.
Together, they’ll explore what our communities can teach us about grief, what sustains people through decades of advocacy and social change, and an especially meaningful question:
Who holds those who have spent so much of their lives holding others?
Kathleen Saadat specifically extended an invitation to members of the CAP Northwest community, and this gathering may be especially meaningful for Aging Well participants whose lives have been shaped by HIV/AIDS, loss, caregiving, advocacy, resilience, and chosen community.
